The Inca Trial

Five years thinking about it.

Four days trekking an estimated 45 kilometers climbing from 2600 to over 4200 meters (the apex of Dead Woman's Pass) and then back down again.

Three (occasionally rainy) nights spent in tents.

Two very well-used rain ponchos.

One unforgettable arrival in the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu.

I have never been more proud of my daughter.

  1. We are very proud of you both! Chloes we think you are doing an amazing job! I guess all that rainy Vancouver weather was a great training ground! By the time you hit Australia all you will want to do and sun (that is dry out) and relax on the beach for awhile......

  2. Thanks Auntie Karen. I'm sure I will dry out soon.

  3. Cathy & Real - congrats on doing the trail to you both and surviving Dead Women's Pass. Don't you love the way everybody hangs out at the top after climbing to 4,200 metres to then watch all the others struggle up? Oh, and the 4:30 A.M wake-up call on the morning you hike into Machu Picchu - but all very much worth it!
